Biosecurity Challenges to Be Aware of

Gathering thousands of animals in a single venue, however, presents unique biosecurity challenges. High-density environments increase opportunities for the transmission of pathogens through shared air, surfaces, and handling equipment. Common contact points such as wash racks, show arenas, barns and stalling areas can all serve as reservoirs for bacteria, viruses, and other harmful pathogens if not properly cleaned and disinfected.
